When is the Best Time to Seed My Lawn?

Chris Jamieson Lawn Care

We’ve been servicing North Texas lawns long enough to know that families around here take their yards seriously. At Lawn Connections we know there’s nothing better than looking out your front window and seeing a nice healthy lush green yard. Accomplishing that in the weather we have around here, can be another story.

Why seed my yard?

Many of our clients start off with patchy yards or are overrun by weeds before they start using our services. When we mentioned seeding a lawn, we get a lot of the same questions. Seeding a yard enables your lawn to have an even dispersal of the grass you want to see rooted and flourish in your space.

The climate here can be taxing on grass, so it might be necessary to over-seed in order to make sure your lawn is healthy.

When should I seed my yard?

The warmer climate in North Texas makes the best time for seeding for summer grasses in the early spring. That way the seeds have plenty of time to take root and start growing before the Texas heat kicks in. Summer grasses we typically see in this area include:

  • St. Augustine
  • Bermuda
  • Zoysia

Though this is true of most of North Texas, we take each client’s yard on a case-by-case basis. If you have specific questions or concerns, give us a call to discuss your options.
